Mayor of Midvale Names New Police Chief Aid A l MIDVALE ALE ALE-A A new police chief chic and an assistant for the Midvale l police force was announced Tuesday Tuesday Tuesday Tues Tues- day by Mayor Henry Beckstead William H. H Grant 31 South Grant St. St was named the new chief to replace Marcell Graham Graham Graham Gra Gra- ham new warden of Utah State Prison Chief Grants Grant's assistant will be Melvin Melvln L L. 28 of S S. East in Midvale l Mr l Grant is a native of Midale Midvale Midvale Mid- Mid vale ale and has had about a year and a n half of law enforcement experience all on the Midvale police force Before joining the police force he had been in the wholesale meat business 13 years He was graduated from JorJan Jordan Jordan Jor Jor- dan Jan High School in 1937 and served in the Air Force a year during World War II He is married mar ried reed and has a 12 old year daugh daugh- ter Mr l is also a native of Midvale l and his two years of police experience has all been spent on his home town force lIe He was in the Army 22 months during World War II II
