Amateur Meet Plans Drafted The t tournament committee of the Utah State Golf association Friday announced final plans for amateur golf tournament to be held September 1 to 4 4 at atthe the Salt Lake Co Country club It was decided that in view of the interest which the meet is s commanding a Calcutta pool will willbe willbe willbe be held Thursday August 31 at 7 p. p m. m at the the Country club There will be at least three flights It is expected that at least 60 or 70 golfers will take part All entries must be in the hands of Alex McCafferty pro at the Canyon Canyon Canyon Can Can- yon club by Thursday at 6 p. p m. m Practice rounds will be permitted permit permit- ted Wednesday and Thursday on the course for those players who have paid their entry fee Ed Kingsley Utah's outstanding golfer will not take part in the meet which leaves the field wide open pen Golf experts report that there are at least 20 players who have a chance to take the crown The defending champion is Abel Larson who has been practicing diligently for the defense of his laurels
