L 5 Concessions at South End of Resort Ablaze SCARCITY OF WATER HINDERS THE FIRE SALT FIGHTERS T LAKE ENGINES RUSH TO HELP I All AU concessions at the south end of or Salta pavilion were rapidly burning away Wednesday after noon as a blaze of unknown origin swept the resort The rhe fire started in the fun Iun house a frame structure ture on the northeast side of the pavilion pavilion- and arni fanned Canned by a n slight wind rapidly swept to other adjoining ad joining concession buildings The giant racer which stands near the fun house next caught fire and flames ept through the flimsy structure as if it were a house louse of cards A serious shortage of water and antiquated fire firefighting firefighting fighting equipment at the resort hampered attempts to battle the blaze Officials of the Inland Crystal Salt company plant who observed the fire through field glasses s said aid they were vere unable to determine the extent of the flames but that it was believed most of the concession conces sion houses were ablaze Workmen and officials at the resort were vere much difficulty because of a scarcity of wa ter Fire fighting equipment at the resort was almost useless and pumps were reported clogged with salt salt- from the lake ake There was a large crowd of or tourists tourists' at the pavilion and all scurried to ta remove automobiles from froni the lite pavilion as the flames reached major prop proportions casualties No-casualties were we reported Engine 08 6 nd 7 r from om Salt Lake Lake- I led d by Fire C Chief lieC Walter S.
