John Cornell, bo years old, a prominent resident of Glassboro, threw himself under the wheels ot an engine in the Pennsylvania Railroad depot in this city this morning and was mangled man-gled to death upon the track. He first attempted to pull his niece, Miss Mary Camel!, with him, but f h s-as grabbed by the conductor, John Counell, and Cornell made the fatal pltlCgs stlone. Opinion varies as to whether the drad man meant to murder his niece before taking bis own life. At the sight of the approaching train Carnell became excited, and when it drew near he suddenly grasped his niece by tbe arm and tried first to push and then to put her In front of the engine. Conductor Con-ductor Council saw the act and rUohtid to the young lady's aid. He reached hef not a moment too soon, aa she was Just falling with her uncle beneath tbo wheeK The conductor tore her from the desperate desper-ate mau's grasp and Carnell fell headlong lo his fate.
