Two thousand thou-sand people responded to the call ot thu local assemblies of the Knights of Labor to hold a mas meeting at Union' Square tonight, to express their sympathy itli the striking employes of the Xew York Central. The meeting adopted resolutions which state that Detw has tried to defeat the effbrts of labor by refusing to listen" to the just demands of his employes or to arbitrate with them. They protested against the employment employ-ment of Pinkerton men and demanded de-manded a law compelling the employer em-ployer and employe to submit their difUcultics tS a S ate board of education edu-cation and abide by their decision, and that the railroad property of the counfry be controlled by the government. |
