Show SI 3len Wind Up League Schedule Tonight, Monday; Siili Ward Wins Stake Title Presentation of Awards To Be Made Tonight During Games ; All-Stake Team To Be Selected Stake M Men will conclude play in their basketball basket-ball league tonight and Monday with three games set to-"J to-"J k., MJ, nitfht. The two games Monday -were called off because of, "darkness" throughout the city when the power went off. In tonight's games, Mapleton will play the Sixth Ward in the opening game at 7 p. m. At 8 o'clock, Third will meet Fifth and Fourth and First will tangle immediately im-mediately following. . Awards To Be Given ... Although the schedule will not be completed until Monday night, presentations of awards will be made following the 8 o'clock game tonight, announced Stake Supervisor Supervis-or Burton Tew. The Sixth Ward, who won the title with a win over Fifth last week, will be presented a trophy. An All-Stake team will be selected and other citations for sportsmanship and outstanding playing will be made during the ceremony. The Kolob All-Stake team is scheduled to play the Nebo All-Stake team in a benefit game at Payson, Feb. 15. On Monday night, Feb. 10, Mapleton will play Fourth at 7 p. m., to be followed by the Fifth vs. First game at 8. Last Week's Results . . . Reese Mower led the Sixth warders ward-ers in their win against the Fifth Ward last Thursday, 39-19. With the win, the Sixth captured the Kolob Stake M Men title, the second sec-ond title in three years of the ward's organization. Mapleton was the defending titleholder. R. Col-lett, Col-lett, Miller and Weight counted 6, 6 and 7 points, respectively, to assist as-sist in the scoring. Kimball and Clyde dunked 5 counters each for the losers. In the second game of the evening, eve-ning, First Ward exhibited some of the best ball handling and playing play-ing during the season, to dump Mapleton in an Interesting game, 41-30. Led by Jarvis and K. Olsen, who counted 13 and 12 points each, the First took a commanding lead and held it throughout. The entire en-tire First Ward club played brilliant bril-liant ball and the Guy Brown coached machine clicked smoothly throughout the entire game. Hansen Han-sen and Stone led the losers in the scoring with 11 and 8 points, respectively. re-spectively. Fourth , Ward pulled a surprise upset of the season when they overcame a 12-point advantage at halftime by the Second to win in an extra period game, 39-37. Fourth got off to a slow first half start but poured in baskets in the final half to eke out the win. Owen Sumsion, Cranmer and Allen were the big guns in the Fourth's scoring scor-ing attack. Scoring for Second, was pretty evenly divided. In the only Monday game played, Second was leading Third 34-15 in the last part of the Third quarter when the lights went out Officials ruled Second as the winner. win-ner.
