Show APPEAL MADE FOR PENNIES TO AID CHILDREN In their annual St. Valentine's Day appeal to assist crippled chil-Primary chil-Primary Association of Kolob dren, officers and teachers of the Stake have sent letters of explanation expla-nation to Springville homes and will call to obtain contributions before Feb. 14th. Funds raised In this appeal now support the Primary Pri-mary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City. Plans now are under way for a major expansion, including includ-ing an ultra-modern new hospital building at a site overlooking the city immediately west of the Veterans' Vet-erans' hospital. Help is not limited to LDS children. chil-dren. In the past 25 years, the hospital hos-pital has cared for more than 3,000 children, regardless of race, color or creed. The state's finest specialists spec-ialists give liberally of their time and talents without charge and civic-minded groups provide volunteer volun-teer care and recreation for the courageous little patients. Each af-trnoon, af-trnoon, they are instructed by a regular teacher appointed by the Board of Education. Children range in ages from six to twelve years and grades one to six are taught in groups. Utahns, always deeming it a privilege to say "happy birthday," via the anniversary pennies, are looking forwards to the knock of the canvassing Primary officers. Individuals and families are invited invit-ed to contribute a cent for every year of their ages and if you care to avoid telling your exact age, consider yourself and all members of the family 100 years old, officers offi-cers state. |
