I , i - W ' , " - f ' ' H 5-' - A Peggy Engel, for tke pt three seasons the feminine star in "Oklahoma!," "Ok-lahoma!," has accepted the leading role in the University ot UteJ' ! summer feetival preeentation of "Show Boat," Dr. O. LoweH Lee, producer-director, ajmoBeveed week. Last summer, when tke Unlrer- sity and the Centennial eommii-sion eommii-sion presented "Promised Valley," another "Oklahoma!" star, Alfred Drake, played the leading role. Miss Engel, star of stage and radio, is a lyric soprano, Dr. Lees said, and has sung in "The Bartered Bart-ered Bride," "The Count of Luxembourg," Luxem-bourg," "Orpheus in the Underworld," Under-world," "Secret Marriage," "Im-pressario," "Im-pressario," "Maid as Mistress" and "Rose Masque." She also played the title role in the Broadway success, suc-cess, "The Brat." "Show Boat," the Jerome Kern-Oscai Kern-Oscai Hammerstein musioal, will be presented at the University of Utah stadium bowl, beginning July 14. "Show Boat" will play for K) nights and "Midsummer Night's Dream" for four nights. Another noted singer in the "Show Boat" cast is Kenneth Spencer, Spen-cer, stage, film and radio personality, personal-ity, who will sing the play's immortal im-mortal "01' Man River," Dr. Lees said.
