SANFORD Good To Have In The Cookie Jar Seldom do the grandchildren find an empty cookie jar when they come to see Grandma Sahford, especially when she lived at home and did a lot of cooking for her , family. Among the recipes which she likes best perhaps because everyone else likes them, is her Raisin Filled Cookies. They're good to have on hand and are easy to make. " RAISIN FILLED COOKIES Two-thirds' cup shortening 1 cup sugar 1 egg y2 cup milk 1 teaspoonful vanilla 3y2 cups flour y2 teaspoonful salt 4 teaspoonfuls Baking Powder. Cream shortening, add sugar and beaten egg, milk and vanilla. Add flour, salt and Baking Powder, Pow-der, which have been sifted together. to-gether. Roll out thin and cut. Place one teaspoon of filling on each cookie. Cover with another cookie. Press edges together and bake in moderate oven, 15 minutes. Filling 3 teaspoonfuls flour y2 cup sugar 2 cups chopped raisins cup water. Mix flour and sugar. Add water and fruit. Cook until thick, being careful not to burn. |
