These golden brovn, light, tender yeast rolls are deliriously flavored with orange and topped with a creamy icing that carries through the fruity flavor . . . wonderful with any meal. Hollywood Orange Rolls 1 cake compressed y east V- teaspoons salt Vi cup lukewarm water 1 tablespoon grated orange rind cup Spry 3 4 cup orange juice 1 egg, unbeaten I : cups sifted all-purpose flour , 2 tablespoons sugar 1 orange, sections cut in 1-inch pieces Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water in mixing bowl. Add Spry, egg, sugar, Balt,-orangc viiid and juice. Add flour gradually, beating thoroughly after each addit'.on. The dough should be soft but not stick'. Turn out on floured board and knead until smooth. Place in Sprycoated bowl, brush top of dough with Spry, cover, and let rise in warm place until double inbulk (about 1 hour). Punch down and turn out on floured board. Koll dough about 2 inch thickand cut with 23.2-ineh cutter. Let stand on hr :u'd a few minutes, then shape like 'urker Ilouse Rolls, insert-ins a piece of orange in the crease of each roll. Place 'i inch apart in two square 8-inch pans. Let rise in warm place until double in bulk. Bake in hot oven (425 F.) 15-20 minutes. Brush with Spry and while still warm cover liberally with Orange Icing. Makes 2 dozen rolls. Orange cing: Place 1 tablespoon butter, 1 tablesiif- - 'cmon juice, 1 tablespoon orange juice and 1 teaspoon tea-spoon grated orange rind in small bowl and heat over hot water until butter is melted. Remove from hot water; add 1$ cups sifted confectioners' confec-tioners' susar and bp.-, well. |
