Show LOCAL TEACHER TO TAKE JOB SOON, IN ENGLAND Making preparations for over a year's stay in England is Miss Alzada Wilmott of this city. She will sail July 24 from New York City as an exchange teacher from the Provo school district. Miss Wilmott will teach at the Stenhope Junior Mixed School at Greenford, Middlesex, located about 10 miles out of London. She plans to teach music, art, and other allied subjects. Mrs. Eva Stevens of London will come to Provo to take Miss Wilmott's classes at the Maescr Grade School where she has taught for the past five years. Before teaching in Provo, Miss Wilmott taught in schools in the Nebo District and in Idaho. Miss Wilmott will reach England Eng-land in time to meet the British exchange teachers coming to the United States. Her school will commence Sept. 1. Until that time she plans to travel throughout Scotland, Wales, Ireland, France, and Holland. She has relatives near the place where she will teach. It will be necessary for her to take clothing and supplies for her entire visit. Miss Wilmott, well-known throughout this community for her musical talents, received her B.A. degree from the Brigham Young University and has done post-graduate work at the Utah State Agricultural College, Western West-ern State College, Gunnison, Colo., and the Bush Music Conservatory at Chicago. She also has served as a missionary mis-sionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Northern States Mission. |
