Show Plans Progress For Big Benefit ' Show Scheduled August 4, 5 Everything seemed progressing nicely today for the community show, "Laff It Off," which will use jmm-oximately 150 local people in Dresentatinn nf Q $of the most unique and entertaining entertain-ing events of its kind here next lhursday and Friday, August 4 and 5 at Spring Acres Race Track Sponsored by the local Lions club, show proceeds will be used for the establishment of a wading pool and ice skating pond for the children of this community according ac-cording to J. C. Nielson. club president. presi-dent. r "Laff It Off," is called the big newspaper revue, in which headlines head-lines come to life. Home town folk impersonate famous columnists and give the low down on what happens behind the scenes as they portray various news features found in a daily paper. In connection with the principal characters which will be taken by club mem and other prominent individuals, in-dividuals, there will be a chorus of talented entertainers appearing in the various acts. While some of the most important impor-tant characters prefer to remain annonymous, the chorus and dance members who had been selected by Wednesday included the following: Sherry Barnett, Coleen Allan, Sharon Sha-ron Clayson, Marjorie Hatfield, Diane Child, Ann Black, Alberta Wilmott. Billy Dar-lene Dar-lene Clark, Ranae Clayson, Ruth Stewart, Carolyn Clark, Barbara Carter, Jacqueline Joan and Barbara Bar-bara Kelly, Mona Rae Pitts, Jean and Joan Averett, Sharlene Senior, Marva Poulsen, Patsy Ann Loftin, Barbara Taylor, Tedy Brawn and Dawn Fullmer. Bill Kapp is arranging an excellent ex-cellent cast to participate and regular reg-ular rehearsals began some time ago for the big show. In addition to the regular acts, Wm. Parry R. B. Weight and company will present a novelty act. Townspeople are asked to make plans now to attend the entertainment entertain-ment and see a fine show as well as helping the kids get a much needed form of recreation. |
