Show Lew Ayres Comes To Rivoli Screen In Laugh - Getter "The Golden Fleecing," hilarious hilar-ious adventure of a timid clerk involved with a gang of racketeers, is the attraction coming Wednesday Wednes-day to the Rivoli theatre, with Lew Ayres and Rita Johnson teamed in its mirthful story. It starts with Ayres accidentally selling a big insurance policy to a big-time racketeer, who turns fugitive fu-gitive and is likely to be "bumped "bump-ed off" at any moment, at the immediate im-mediate expense of the insurance company. To save his job Ayres sets out to track down the racketeer rack-eteer and becomes involved with the gang. His trials and tribulations tribula-tions from then on come fast and furious. Even when he becomes a hero to the public, he's a sad and worried young man within. Virginia Grey turns "heavy" to play the "moll" of the racket overlord, Lloyd Nolan. Leon Errol is hilariously funny as the xylophone xylo-phone playing former vaudevll-lian, vaudevll-lian, Uncle Waldo. Others in the cast include Nat Pendleton, Geo. Lessey, Richard Carle, Ralph Byrd and Marc Lawrence. |
