Show Ada Stark, Irwin Curtis Marriage Plans Announced Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Stark wish to announce the engagement ot their daughter, Ada, to Irwin Curtis. Cur-tis. The marriage is planned to take place Wednesday, December 4, in the Manti temple. A wedding reception is planned for Thursday evening in the Ma-pleton Ma-pleton ward amusement hall beginning be-ginning at 8 p. m. The young couple will make their home in Springville. Miss Brown, Mr. Nielson Wed At Charming Home Ceremony THESPIANS HEAR BOOK REVIEW Mrs. Maurice Anderson reviewed review-ed the book, "The Family," at a meeting of the Thespians, high school national dramatic fraternity, frater-nity, held Wednesday evening in the Little Theatre in the Art building. The first part of the meeting was used to discuss immediate club problems, and plans for future fu-ture activities were made. FRIENDS ENTERTAINED AT DELIGHTFUL PARTY A group of 'friends were delightfully delight-fully entertained Friday night at the home of Miss Maxine Harmer. Luncheon was served at one long table, centered with red and white chrysanthemums, following which progressive neighbor was played, with high score prize going to Ora Nielson and consolation to Ralph Byway. Attending were Evelyn Mack-ley, Mack-ley, Ray Woffinden; Lenore Hop-la, Hop-la, Quintin Byway; Maxine Harmer, Har-mer, Melvin Harwood; Ora Nielson, Niel-son, Richmond Waterland; Mr. and Mrs. Horace Hood; DeEtta Woffinden, and Ralph Byway. Miss Mary Louise Wingate had as her guest in Springville over I the Thanksgiving holidays, Miss Barbara Gantz of Superior, Wyo- I ming. Both are students at the j University of Utah. i . Announcement was made this week of the marriage of Miss Ra-mona Ra-mona Brown, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark A. Brown, of this city, to Arvelle C. Nielsen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Nielsen of this city, which took place on Tuesday at the home of the bride's parents. The ceremony was performed by Douglas Page of the Provo First ward bishopric, in the presence pres-ence of immediate family members and close friends. The bride wore a lovely soldier blue afternoon dress with corsage of red rose buds. Her attendant was Miss Lenore Allen, bridesmaid. brides-maid. Floyd Nielsen, brother of the groom, was best man. Immediately after the marriage, the bride and groom were honored with an informal wedding reception, recep-tion, at which dinner was served to members of the wedding party. A beautiful wedding cake centered cen-tered the dining table, and cut flowers decorated the reception room. Shortly after the wedding reception, recep-tion, the young couple left for Ogden, where they will make their home. SHOWER HONORS RECENT BRIDE In honor of Mrs. Arvelle Nielsen, Niel-sen, nee Miss Ramona Brown, a shower was given Friday evening at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. Mark A. Brown. Social conversation, games, and music, were enjoyed by approximately approxim-ately eighteen relatives and friends and was concluded with luncheon. The honored guest received a number of lovely gifts. DAUGHTERS OF PIONEERS TO HAVE SOCIAL MONDAY . Daughters of the Utah Pioneers of Camp Kolob will hold a social Monday evening, December 2, beginning be-ginning at eight o'clock, in the First ward amusement hall. An excellent program, a one-act one-act play, games, and a dance will comprise the evening's entertainment. entertain-ment. The public is invited to attend, and tickets can be purchased from members of the camp. Mrs. Florence Boyer is general chairman of arrangements, and she will be assisted by several committees. |
