RECENT BRIDE HONORED AT LES VIVANTES MEETING Complimenting Mrs. Sam Wil-stead, Wil-stead, the former Lucille Curtis, a party was held for members of Les Vivantes club Thursday at the home of Mrs. Enid Rowland. A delicious luncheon was served serv-ed the guests and tiny blue wedding wed-ding bells marked places. Blue scrolls tied with pink ribbon announced an-nounced the date of the marriage. All of the federated clubs of the1 state are bidden to the social affair af-fair which is annually held against an appropriate setting of nationally nation-ally acclaimed contemporary art. Maw, wife of the governor; Mrs. J. R. Pekinpaugh,, acting president of the Utah Federation of Women's Wo-men's clubs; Mrs. S. M. Ercan-brack, Ercan-brack, second vice-president of the Utah Federation of Women's clubs; Mrs. F. C. Peacock, general chairman of fine arts; Mrs. Harold Har-old Christensen, state art chairman; chair-man; Mrs. L. H. Cornaby, president presi-dent of the .First district of the 1'tali Federation of Women's clubs; Mrs. Alice Merrill Horne, state art patron; Mrs. Mae Huntington, Hun-tington, publicity director of the art committee. MOTHERS' STUDY CLUB ELECTS OFFICERS Mrs. Ella Reynolds was hostess to members of the Mothers' Study club Friday at her home, with her daughters, Mrs. Bess Mendenhall and Mrs. Birdella Bearnson, acting as assisting hostesses. Musical numbers were vocal solos by Vera Zobell and Mary Mendenhall, accompanied by Mrs. lone Palfreyman and Mrs. Bess Mendenhall, respectively. A review of the book, "Random Harvest," by James Hilton, was given in an interesting manner by Mrs. Mercedes Anderson. - Officers were elected as follows: fol-lows: President, Mrs. Gladys Boyer; Boy-er; vice-president, Mrs. Beth Barrett; Bar-rett; secretary, Mrs. Zelma Beardall. Luncheon was served according to the spring Easter motif at one long table centered with a beautiful beauti-ful centerpiece of daffodils. Special Spe-cial novel Easter favors were given giv-en the guests. VERSATILITY CLUB ENTERTAINED THURSDAY Versatility club members were entertained Thursday at the home of Mrs. Eulalia Livingston. An Easter theme was carried i out in luncheon arrangements, after which progressive bunco was played, with high score prize going to Eloise Bird. Members present were Evelyn Bird, Eloise Bird, Ferl Bown, Billie Bil-lie Burti, May Miller, Helen Rowland, Row-land, Marva Taylor, Minnie Walton, Wal-ton, and special guests were Pearl Smith and Betty Sumsion. MRS. WEIGHT, MRS. CLARK FETED AT BIRTHDAY PARTY Complimenting Mrs. Afton Clark and Mrs. Lola Weight, whose birthdays occurred this week, a surprise party was held Saturday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Clark. A delicious luncheon was served, serv-ed, after which progressive games were played, with Mrs. Lee Walker winning the prize for the ladies and John Miller winning the prze for the men. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. John Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Long, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Weight, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Walker, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Frandsen, Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Boyer, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Clark, and Mr. and Mrs. George Nelson. FIRST WARD M MEN AND GLEANERS TO HAVE FIRESIDE M Men and Gleaners of the First ward will meet in their regular monthy fireside chat at the home of Miss Verlaine Beardall Sunday evening following M. I. A. conjoint con-joint meeting. Assisting hosts and hostesses are: Kenny Olsen, Woodrow Weight, and Creed Weight of the M Men, and for the Gleaner Girls, Delia Baxter and Phyllis Weight. FACULTY WIVES ENTERTAINED WEDNESDAY Mrs. Maude Nielson and Mrs. Gwen Baxter entertained wives of the school faculty members at the home of the former Wednesday evening. Entertainment for the evening included a review of the book, "Giant Joshua," given by Miss Delia Baxter, and violin solos by Mrs. Jack Cherrington. A delicious luncheon was served to the following ladies: Mrs. Victor Vic-tor Frandsen, Mrs. William T. Tew, Mrs. Jack Cherrington, Mrs. Warren Beardall, Mrs. J. F. SOCIAL TWELVE CLUR HAS SPRING PARTY A nicely arranged party for members of the Social Twelve club was given Thursday evening at I lie home of Mrs. Bert Rowland. Early in the evening, a delicious luncheon was served from small tables, followed by contract bridge. High score prize for the games was won by Mrs. Leon Harrison. Har-rison. EFFAN BEE CLUB ENTERTAINED WEDNESDAY A delightful evening was spent by members of the Effan Bee club Wednesday night at the home of Mrs. Lanette Olsen. v Guests were presented with dainty corsages of sweet peas tied with satin ribbons as special favors. Luncheon was served early in the evening according to a spring theme, after which the diversion was a review of the book, "Madame "Ma-dame Dorthea.," given by Mrs. Ruth Sumsion. Members present were Margaret Christensen, Phyllis Nielson, Mildred Mil-dred Larsen, Ruth Olsen, Rowena Rigtrup, and the hostess, and special spe-cial guests were Berniece Rigtrup and Ruth Sumsion. LITTLE SEWING CLUB HAS APRIL FOOL'S PARTY A novel "April Fool" party was triven for members of the Little Sewing club Tuesday. Foolish stunts and games were enjoyed. Lunch was served on a table covered with funny papers and centered with a bouquet of radishes. Foolish place cards were used, and small dunce caps filled with nuts were given as favors.
