Show Post Office Building Progressing Rapidly Approximately twenty per cent completed, the new Federal building build-ing being erected here is up to scheduled progress, Post Office Inspector In-spector E. W. Kunze announced today. Face brick for the building, to be of slight varied shades of red, has been approved by the Washington Wash-ington office and is now being burned by the Interstate Brick company of Salt Lake City. Actual laying of the brick will start within a few days. Concrete basement walls and floor slabs have been completed. The floor slab will be a sub-floor, with finish floor materials used for completion. A marble floor will be laid for the lobby, a white oak floor in the postmaster's room, and a maple floor in the workroom. A basement will be under the entire first floor containing a boiler room, fuel room, storage rooms, a steel boiler of the single pass portable, smokeless type. This boiler will have a rating of 2200 square feet of direct cast iron steam radiaton. Heat will be low pressure, single pipe steam installation, and copper pipe will be used throughout for all water pipes. Matt Peterson is foreman of the job, representing the interests of the contractor, Newstrom-Davis & Co of Denver, and E. W. Kunze is the government engineer supervising super-vising construction for the gov-tnent. gov-tnent.
