Show MRS. TESS H. GARRISON 4 PRESENTED A RECITAL of her piano students recently in Manhattan Beach, Calif. A former for-mer resident of Springville, she will be remembered for her participation par-ticipation in musical entertainments, entertain-ments, before making her home in California. A report of the recital, sent from the social columns of a Los. Angeles, Calif., paper, is as follows: fol-lows: Amid a profusion of spring flowers the pupils of the Tess Garrison Gar-rison studio presented a recital for their parents Sunday afternoon at the Neptunian Club in Manhattan Manhat-tan Beach. Miss Annola Florence Wright of Los Angeles, teacher of Mrs. Garrison, was the guest of honor. Miss Patsy O'Neill of Hermosa Beach was to have been flower girl, but due to illness, Virginia Linwood graciously took her place. In the receiving line were Mrs. Kirk White, Mrs. C. E. Linwood, Miss Iva Mae Stewart, Mrs. W. E. Dorman and Mrs. J. C. Spracklin. Paul Bennet, baritone, was soloist sol-oist of the afternoon. His group included "My Self When Young," from the ' Persian Garden suite; "Shortnin' Bread," by Wolfe; "My Journey's End," by Foster; "None But the Lonely Heart," by Tschai-kowsky Tschai-kowsky and Malotte's "The Lord's Prayer." Miss Dorothy Weller surprised the audience with a beautiful ballet number, danced to "Valse Bluette," by Drigo. Miss Thea Mae Doreman, a pupil pu-pil of Mrs. Garrison, sang "The Bubbly" and; "Something Goes Tingling," by Friml. Also "Open Thy Blue Eyes," by Massenet. From a large class of pupils the following were presented by Mrs. Garrison: Mrs. Florence Ertelle, Master Jeff Fassett, Virginia Linwood, Lin-wood, Billy Esser, Diane Meach-am, Meach-am, Lois Sherwood, , Beverly Spracklin, Marion Schaeffer, Patsy Pat-sy Walker, Margaret Hamilton, Joan Rectin, Joan Sweker and Jane Hufford. The program was brought to a close with Mrs. Garrison playing Sinding's "Rustle of Spring" and a humorous pianologue, given especially es-pecially for the students. |
