Show Recreation Program Now In Full Swing Supervised Free Recreation Activities Conducted Daily For Boys And Girls ; Softball Teams Also Being Organized A varied recreation program is being carried on in this city under supervision of J. F. Wingate and Mrs. Madge Crandall, and an invitation is extended rto all boys and girls of the city to participate. The various activities are free and are carefully supervised so that much is gained from a recreational recre-ational standpoint by those attending. at-tending. From 2 until 5 p. m., daily, supervised su-pervised play is conducted at the City park, where group games and other sports are enjoyed. On Thursday, swimming is conducted con-ducted at Park Ro-She, under supervision su-pervision of recreation leaders. A fee of 10 cents is charged boys and girls who have participated in supervised play during other days of the week. Friday is Story Hour day, and boys and girls are being invited to meet at the library, where they are entertained with stories given by Mrs. Floss Phillips, librarian. Also, other hovel and interesting entertainment is usually featured at the library. Only those children of First-grade age and older are invited to the library story hour. Each evening, except Saturday and Sunday, Softball games are arranged at the Recreation park. To date, teams have been organized orga-nized among the Deacons of the various wards and some interesting interest-ing competition has developed in this age group. An invitation is extended to all boys of the town, or girls, interested inter-ested in Softball, to contact Mr. Wingate or come to the Recreation Recrea-tion park in the evenings, and arrangements ar-rangements will be made for everyone ev-eryone to participate on a Softball team. The time for evening games has been set for from 7 to 10:30 p. m. Recreation leaders are anxious to get other teams organized, especially es-pecially for a Commercial League and every effort is being made to get older men and boys interested in the softball sport. |
