Show Couple Take Marriage j Vvws In Temple .. ; A marriage of interest to their many friends and relatives is that of Lewis B. Van Leuvan, son of Mrs. Emma Van Leuvan of this city, and Edna Hawkins of Spanish Span-ish Fork. The ceremony was performed in the Salt Lake temple Monday, with a group of near relatives witnessing witnes-sing the rites. Mr. Van Leuvan is in the selective selec-tive draft and expects to leave for armed service soon. THE LADIES LITERARY CLUB MET FRIDAY for their annual summer social and business meeting. The group met at the high school art gallery early in the afternoon to view the paintings in the Maurice. Braun collection. Mrs. J. Y. Bearnson, newly elected club president, in an interesting manner gave data on the various paintings in the collection col-lection and told of the artist's life. Later club members met at the home of Mrs. Oliver Dalton, where several items of business were discussed dis-cussed and tasty refreshments served. In attendance were: Mrs. Mercedes Anderson, Mrs. Hannah Clyde, Mrs. Helen Crandall, Mrs. Ruby Christensen, Mrs. Jessie Dalton, Dal-ton, Mrs. Minnie Groesbeck, Mrs. Clara Sumsion, Mrs. Rea Straw, Mrs. Elizabeth Salisbury, Mrs. Madge Thorn, Mrs. LaRue Walker, Mrs. Birdella Bearnson, and Mrs. Manilla Brown. !,, SPIRIT OF THE TIMES fl tS REFLECTED in a delightful "Victory Dinner" aid party given by Frank and Er-ma Er-ma Morgan at their home Friday evening. Everything served came from 1 He couple's "Victory Garden," or I ias produced at their home. An attractive color scheme of red, unite and blue was employed and an original and cleverly arranged centerpiece of vegetables in "V" shape was used on the dining i table. The entertaining rooms were I beautifully decorated with varl-,.: varl-,.: colored gladiolus. I Guests included: Bill and Gertie Ruff, Ray and Amy Klauck, Frank and Naomi Crandall, Lewis and Eileen Bird, Francis and Dorothy Hazel. Following dinner, card playing play-ing was enjoyed by the group. s CAMP KOLOB, D. U. P., ENTERTAINED THURSDAY evening at a social in connection with a meeting at the home of Mrs. Myrtle Conover in Hobble Creek canyon. The group enjoyed J a delightful program in which they t; sang community songs; Mrs. Eliza Boyer and Mrs. Lillie Snow rendered a vocal duet, accompanied accompan-ied by Mrs. Stella Wixom; Mrs. Mrytle Conover gave readings, and Mrs. Eliza Boyer also entertained with readings. Prayers were by Chaplains Sarah Dalton and Sarah Beardall. Also during the evening a delicious deli-cious luncheon was served from a huge open fireplace.
