Show Recreation Events Are Well Attended Softball Games Feature Wins For Park Inn, Bates & Rogers, And Deacons; - Copperettes To Play Kolob Here iConight Recreational activities in SpringViPe this summer sum-mer are proving especially popular withU record attendance at-tendance and considerable enthusiasm exhibited at the various events. Ball games are especially well attended and those between the girls' teams have attracted record crowds each week. This evening, the Kolob group will meet the Copperettes on the local grounds, the Wednesday evening eve-ning game having been postponed while some of the players participated partici-pated in an all-star exhibition game in Salt Lake City. The Copperettes have exhibited some excellent playing here this season, and the game is expected to be close. The Third ward Deacons seem to have what it takes to keep the lead in the Deacons' league, having defeated both the First and Fourth wards this week. They won over the Fourth in a score of 16-4, and the game with the First ward ended end-ed with a 12-2 score. Park Inn won a game over the Junior Chamber of Commerce Tuesday evening with a score of 5-2, and Bates & Rogers won the same evening from the Springville Spring-ville Garage with a score of 12-2. The Deacons have two games scheduled for Friday evening, when the First ward will play the Fourth and Third wards. |
