Crandall of Salt Lake City, recently of Rawlins, Raw-lins, Wyo., and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Law-rence Crandall, who have been in the east on business. A GROUP ENJOYED A CHICKEN SUPPER Sunday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fullmer. They attended at-tended the show early in the evening eve-ning and later had supper. Attending Attend-ing were Mr. and Mrs. Blain Miner, Mr. and Mrs. George Bird, and Mr. and Mrs. Fullmer. . The Herald today extends best wishes to Mrs. Nancy J. Deal, long-time resident of this city and one of the oldest residents, who this week celebrated her eighty-ninth eighty-ninth birthday. A dinner Sunday honored Mrs. Deal in celebration of her birthday, birth-day, given by a daughter, Mrs. Charles Boyer, and husband, at the Deal home, for members of the immediate im-mediate family. Guests included Mrs. J. B. Bedford Bed-ford of Rupert, Ida., Mr. and Mrs. Ben Argyle of Mercur. Mrs. Maude Wood, the guest of honor, and Mr. and Mrs. Boyere. Mrs. Deal, especially active for her years, spends much time with her handiwork and keeps in touch with current events by reading her newspaper daily. She was born on the plains of Nebraska, a daughter of J. W. and Evelyn Brown Clark. Her parents were en route to Utah from Texas and she, with her twin brother, Hyrum, were the youngest members mem-bers of a pioneering company which reached Grantsville in 1853. With her family, she went to Washington county, where Brig-ham Brig-ham Young had sent them to colonize. colo-nize. She lived there until her marriage mar-riage in 1872 and then spent six years in settlements in Arizona and New Mexico. She came with her husband and family to Springville Spring-ville in 1878. Her husband engaged in farming, contracting, and commercial com-mercial work until his death about 30 years ago. Five of her ten sons and daughters daugh-ters are living. They are: Mrs. Boyer and Mrs. Maude Wood, Springville; Mrs. J. B. Bedford, Rupert, Ida.; Mrs. Ben Argyle, Mercur, and Mrs. W. R. Finch of Los Angeles, Calif.; also 13 grandchildren grand-children and 12 great-grandchildren. MR. AND MRS. J. R. KINDRED ENTERTAINED AT DINNER . Sunday at their home for members mem-bers of their family. Covers were arranged for Mr. and Mrs. Ted R. Kindred of San Fernando, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Fifield and family fam-ily of Heber City, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Kindred and family of Provo, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas McMullin of Vineyard, Mrs. Geneva Miller, and the host and hostess. A DINNER HONORED ALBERT MANWARING father of Mrs. W. W. Brockbank, on the occasion of his 74th birthday, birth-day, Sunday, given at the Brock-bank Brock-bank home.' Covers were arranged for the guest of honor, whose home is in Ogden, also for members of his family, as follows: Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Manwaring of Provo, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Manwaring of Pay-son, Pay-son, Mr. and Mrs. Fenton F. Gardner Gard-ner and family of Delta, and Mr. and Mrs. Brockbank and family. DR. AND MRS. L. E. OTTESEN ENTERTAINED THURSDAY evening at their home for some of the members of the Provo district dental auxiliary and their partners. During the evening motion pictures pic-tures shown by Dr. R. C.
