RELIEF SOCIETY CLASS LEADERS ENTERTAINED First ward Relief Society class officers gave a party for the class leaders Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Zelma Beardall. The book, "For This Be My Glory," by Paul Bailey, was reviewed re-viewed in an interesting manner by Mrs. Hannah Clyde. Luncheon was served first at small tables centered with dusky pink sweet peas, to the following follow-ing ladies: Mrs. J. W. Olsen, Mrs. Hilda Cherrington, Mrs. Minerva Weght, Mrs. Zelma Beardall, Mrs. Hannah Clyde, Mrs. Edna Graves, Mrs. Mary Peterson, Mrs. Jacob Felix, Mrs. Floss Sanford, Mrs. John Blanchard, Mrs. Ella Peterson, Peter-son, Mrs. Bertha Rothwell, Mrs. Paul Walker, Mrs. Florence Phillips, Phil-lips, Mrs. Margaret Huntington, Mrs. Manilla Brown, Mrs. Mae Childs, Mrs. Emma Beardall, Mrs. Grace Loveridge, Mrs. Beth Lamb-son, Lamb-son, Mrs. Wilda Weight, Mrs. Lavera Curtis, Mrs. Alice Davis, and Mrs. Melinda Sumsion. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Bate announce an-nounce the marriage of their daughter, Fern, to Erwin L. Gear, son of Mrs. Mary L. Gear of Los Angeles. The ceremony was performed in Las Vegas, Nevada, Saturday January 18, with Harold J. Brim-ley, Brim-ley, a member of the L. D. S. stake presidency, officiating. The marriage mar-riage was witnessed by friends and relatives from Los Angeles. The bride was attired in a blue tailored suit with accessories of dusky pink. The bride is a Brigham Young university graduate and a former Springville high school instructor. The young couple will make their home in Los Angeles. FRIENDS ENTERTAINED DURING FORMAL EVENING Miss Dorothy Long was hostess to a group of friends Monday night at her home. Five hundred was played during th evening, after which refreshments refresh-ments were served to eight guests. JOUER CLUB HAS PARTY FRIDAY Mrs. Leah Huff was hostess to members of the Jouer club Friday at her home. Sewing and social conversation were diversions of the afternoon and a delicious luncheon was served serv-ed to June Gale, Pearl Smith, Mel-ba Mel-ba Harrison, Lois Thorn, Lula Crandall, Blanche Palmer, Edna Giles, and the hostess. FIREMEN ENTERTAIN WIVES AT CHICKEN ROOST Fireman entertained their wives at a chicken dinner at the Chicken Roost Wednesday evening. George Wilson acted as toast-master toast-master during the dinner and introduced in-troduced the following program numbers: A violin solo, Eileen Bird; vocal solo, with guitar accompaniment, ac-companiment, Morris Thorpe; duet with guitar accompaniment, Mona Leonard and Roy Leonard. Approximately forty firemen and their wives attended the dinner, din-ner, which was followed by dancing. danc-ing. JUNE THORN COMPLIMENTED AT BIRTHDAY DINNER Mr. and Mrs. Joe Miller entertained enter-tained at dinner Sunday in honor of June Thorn, on the occasion of her sixth birthday. A beautiful birthday cake decorated decor-ated in pink and green centered the long dining table, at which places were laid for Mr. and Mrs. Paul Thorn and family, Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Harmer, Wells Johnson, John-son, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Johnson and daughter, Gwen, Mrs. Charles Harward of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Iva Isaacson of Midvale, and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Douglas of Los Angeles. TEWS ENTERTAINED AT PLEASANT GROVE , William T. Tew was guest speaker Sunday evening in the First ward at Pleasant Grove. Following Fol-lowing the meeting, both Mr. and Mrs. Tew and other returned missionaries mis-sionaries from the East Central States mission, living in the vicinity, vi-cinity, were entertained at the home of Glen Greenard, also a former missionary under President Presi-dent Tew. A delicious luncheon was served serv-ed to those present and social conversation and recounting of missionary experiences were enjoyed. en-joyed. FIREMEN'S AUXILIARY ENTERTAINED MONDAY Members of the Firemen's Auxiliary were entertained Monday Mon-day night at the Fire hall, with Mrs. Susie Allan, Mrs. Nellie Brown, and Mrs. Marge Frand-sen Frand-sen acting as hostesses. Grant Madsen of Provo showed his moving pictures of Denmark and the New York World's Fair as the feature of the entertainment. entertain-ment.
