The day was spent in dem- onstrations by Dr. Binns. Those practicing the operative scales of beef production were in attendance. atten-dance. The next meeting is scheduled sche-duled for February 22. Officers of Future Farmers met recently and have planned an initiation ini-tiation meeting in the near future at which time the green hands of last year will be raised to state farmers and the ninth grade students stu-dents will be raised to the green hands. Two Future Farmers, Wayne Bartholomew and- Gary Whiting, are applicants for the state farmer degree which is awarded at the Utah State Agricultural college in I April. This award is based on their activities in the local chapter scholarship and outstanding project pro-ject programs. David Alleman is an applicant for the Union Pacific $100 scholarship scho-larship which is awarded by the railway company for outstanding accomplishments in agriculture and farm mechanics taken from the eight vocational schools in the county. Springville high school boys have won this award for the last four years. Jim Alleman was the winner last year. |
