Show The public will hear that their supplies have been mismanaged, and that there is no necessity, for rationing of shoes. It is what the public has heard about every other rationing order. It is what the public will hear about any future fu-ture rationing regulation. It may be observed, however, that rationing can be avoided by any critic who will enlist in the fighting forces of the nation. On the front lines, a man can have anything that he can get. He can enjoy other things if he manages to live. NATION MUST USE SUPPLIES FOR NEEDS OF FORCES The order rationing shoes to three pairs a year for every man, woman and child is another indication in-dication that the nation must use its available supplies for the needs of the armed forces. ,The order will probably be followed fol-lowed by others, regulating other commodities now on unrestricted sale. Gradually the people of this country are beginning to appreciate apprec-iate what total war means. There will arise complaints from the same group of citizens who criticize the rationing of gasoline, gaso-line, sugar, coffee, tires and food. |
