Show LOCAL JAYCEES ATTEND MEET OF STATE BOARD A greater effort in the sale of war bonds and stamps, a concerted drive for athletic equipment to be turned over to the boys in the armed forces for body-building exercise ex-ercise and entertainment, city beautification, victory gardens, the coming war conference, and civilian civil-ian defense organizations, were some of the highlights of the regular regu-lar quarterly board meeting of the Utah State Junior Chamber of Commerce, held in Salt Lake City Sunday, according to a large delegation dele-gation from Springville attending. The meeting, which was one of the best attended since the Jaycees were organized in the state, was held at the Newhouse hotel under the direction of Ray L. Richards of Springville, state president. The Springville delegation presented pre-sented a resolution which deplored the conditione existing at the state tuberculosis sanatorium at Ogden, nnii thp state hoard pavft it. a hear- ty approval and appointed a special spe-cial committee to further investigate investi-gate the conditions with a view to seeking their correction. Besides Mr. Richards, attending from the Springville club were: Kimball J. Larsen, state secretary-treasurer; secretary-treasurer; Grant S. Thorn, Kay Johnson, Ernest Boyer, Lee Miner, Karl Alleman, Glenn Hansen, Verl Whiting and Ray Klauck. |
