Show THERON S. HALL FILES FOR NOMINATION Seeks Position As County Sheriff; Is Well Known Party Worker '"In" County Theron S. Hall, incumbent sheriff sher-iff of Utah county, and a prominent promin-ent and well known civic and church worker of this city, Tuesday Tues-day filed for nomination for the office of sheriff on the Democratic ticket. Mr. Hall has spent practically his entire life in Springville. He served as city council in 1927-28, and at present is Democratic chairman chair-man and member of the county executive committee and the state committee. He is the first sheriff from Springville in many years and only the second one ever to come from this city. This is the first time Mr. Hall has filed for nomination for a county position. He was appointed county commissioner to serve the unexpired term of Commissioner Hilton A. Robertson in 1937-38, but later resigned to accept a position po-sition with the state road commission. commis-sion. On July 1, 1941, he was appointed appoint-ed Utah county sheriff to fill the unexpired term of John S. Evans, who was named to the state engineering engi-neering department. During the short time Mr. Hall has held the position, he has gained the confidence of the people in this city and in the county and has manifested an ability to handle the affairs pertaining to the office of county sheriff. |
