Show I HONOR 4-H COCK ' &' 4 ', ' "' K - f- f OUTSTANDING work In food preparation has won for Beverly Bever-ly West, 17, of Pleasant Grove the honor of being a Utah delegate to the 20th National 4-H Club Congress Con-gress In Chicago, Nov. 28-Dec. 6. During her six years of club work, Assistant State Club Leader Fern Shipley announced, Beverly prepared and served 1,690 meals, baked bread and cookies, and put up 1,150 quarts of foods, utilizing a pressure cooker. During an aunt's Illness the girl cooked all the meals. Her whole wheat bread exhibits ex-hibits won blue ribbons at the county and state fairs. She was named assistant leader of a third year foods club this year, which finished 100 per cent and had a winning exhibit at the state fair. As state winner Beverly wins en all-expense trip to Chicago given by the Servel home economics department, de-partment, which also provides six $200 scholarships for national winners. win-ners. This is the seventh year of the contest, which is conducted in cooperation with the extension service. |
