Epperson, secretary-treasurer. I . . . PRESS'OFFICERS GIVE BOOK TO COL. LEWIS In appreciation to Col. Converse R. Lewis, commanding officer of the army air forees basic training center at Kearns, officers of the Utah State Pres3 association presented pre-sented him a scrapbook, containing contain-ing clippings from state papers on the visit during the annual meeting meet-ing of the association last January- Deeply moved by the gift presentation, pre-sentation, Col. Lewis told the donors don-ors that the press of Utah is indeed in-deed "doing a wonderful work" in keeping the home-folks informed of the whereabouts and doings of their boys in the service. "It was indeed a pleasure to have Utah State Press association members as our guests last January," Janu-ary," said the commanding officer, offi-cer, "and we are hoping that you will find it possible to visit us again in the very near future." The scrapbook had been specially special-ly bound and contained the inscription: in-scription: "To Colonel Converse R. Lewis, in appreciation for our visit to Kearns." The book was prepared by Hendrik Romeyn, manager of the association's clipping clip-ping service. Following the presentation, association as-sociation officers were shown around the post, where vast improvements im-provements of the large basic training center were noted. |
