Show ZION AND BRYCE OFFICIALS PREDICT BIG YEAR Although the number of visitors visit-ors in March was less than for the corresponding month in 1940, officials of-ficials of Zion and Bryce national parks expect a "bumper" crop of tourists this season. Spring, the most beautiful season sea-son of the year in the parks, already al-ready is beginning to lure visitors from outside states, officials said, and the influx is expected to increase in-crease with the normal vacation periods this summer. The heavy visiting in March, 1940, was attributed in part to the widely known Easter pageant which has been held for the past several years. Visitors up to March 31 in Zion National park totaled 22,023, compared com-pared with 30,867 n the corresponding corres-ponding period last year. At Bryce National park, 8202 visitors were counted up to March 31, compared with 10.S65 last March. In Zion, checkers listed 3066 automobiles so far this year as against 4481 last year; in Bryce, 2 940 cars were checked this year, compared with 3616 in 1940. |
