Show LOCAL MEN ARE ACTIVE IN CIVIL AIR PATROL Several members of the Civil Air Patrol in Springville plan to attend the first annual dance and buffet lunch of Headquarters Wing No. 97, to be held Saturday evening at the Memorial House in Memory Grove, Salt Lake City. Local members of the C. A. P. J. Lewis Bird, Lawrence L. Beach, Kimball J. Larsen, Prank L. Morgan, Mor-gan, Paul Haymond, W. D. Men-denhall, Men-denhall, Ray L. Richards, Del Whitney Whit-ney and David T. Friel are taking military drill and other instruction at the Provo armory each Monday night under the command of Geo. L. Porter, commander of the Provo area unit. Several of the local members have purchased their uniforms, uni-forms, which are striking in appearance. ap-pearance. The C. A. P. is broadening in its scope of activities daily, and is gaining national recognition by its participation in war services. The local members are at the present time studying to qualify for private pri-vate pilot licenses, so they will be able to take part in flights when the occasion arises. |
