Show Great Britain. Some supplies have' arrived under the lend-lease act, British and American planes are being flown by Turkish pilots from Egypt, the British have delivered a new destroyer built in Britain for Turkey and large consignments of armaments have arrived. These facts, it appears, indicate a defiinte conviction on the part of American and British diplomats that when the hour of decision strikes, the Turks will line up, with the democracies. Of course, the Axis is making every effort to stir up Turkish suspicion of Soviet intentions but it is hard to see how the Turks could view the Soviet with greater suspicion than the Nazis. If the shaving cream situation gets worse, many men will have to grow beards or use soap. TURKEY'S STAND IN THE WAR IS NOT KNOWN Considerable speculation as to the role that Turkey will eventually even-tually play in the present war continues, con-tinues, with many observers expecting ex-pecting a great battle between Allied and Axis diplomacy during the coming months. There is no way to know exactly what the Turkish government will do but there are significant straws in the wind.
