Show TEACHERS ELECT OFFICERS AT INSTITUTE HERE Nebo District Superintendent Announces School Dates Next Year As Sept. 14-May 21 At the last regular institute of Nebo district teachers held in Springville Wednesday afternoon, Doyle Liddle of Payson was elected elect-ed president of the district teachers' teach-ers' association for the coming year, with Eileen Page of Spanish Fork as vice-president. Representatives from the various var-ious districts were named, as follows: fol-lows: Glenn Coffman, first district, dis-trict, comprising Springville and Mapleton; Arthur Grotegut, second sec-ond district, including Spanish Fork; Burgis Lai sen, third district, dis-trict, including Salem, Benjamin, and Lake Shore; X Rowe Groes-beck, Groes-beck, " fourth '" district, .including Payson; Ray D. Steele, fifth district, dis-trict, comprising Santaquin and smaller southern communities. Superintendent Owen L. Barnett was the principal speaker at the institute. He discussed the teachers' teach-ers' contracts and their part in rationing ra-tioning of sugar. He also outlined the year's school calendar, stating stat-ing that school would begin September Sep-tember 14 and close May 21, that there would be a week beet vacation, vaca-tion, one day for Christmas and one day for New Year's. Following the regular institute and business meeting, the visiting teachers were taken on a tour of the art galleries. |
