Show Brian Aherne and Rita Hayworth Co-Star In Gay New Romance In what has been hailed as one of the most delightful comedy romances ro-mances of the season, Brian Aherne and Rita Hayworth are co-starred co-starred on Friday and Saturday at the Rivoli theatre in Columbia's "The Lady In Question." The new film has been hailed as refreshingly refresh-ingly different, not only for its ingenious and Ingenuous narrative but also for the manner in which the co-stars perform. Aherne, one of the handsomest handsom-est leading men on the screen today, to-day, departs from custom to appear ap-pear in his first straight character role, that of a beetle-browed, wal-rus-moustached shop-keeper with a heart big enough to hold the world. Miss Hayworth, one of the screen's most glamorous stars, similarly deserts her glamor roles to appear as an attractive, albeit plainly-dressed young woman who is the center of a terrific domestic domes-tic storm. Accused of murder, she is acquitted ac-quitted by a jury after she wins the sympathies of the middle-aged bicycle shop proprietor. In a generous gen-erous moment, he asks her to call upon him if she ever needs help, and she does! The girl winds up helping in the shop, living with the family, falling in love with the son and unwittingly stealing from the daughter her own boy friend. In addition to these several complications, com-plications, she is suspected by the shopkeeper's own wife. As the shopkeeper, Aherne is said to bring to the screen a glowing, glow-ing, real portrait of a somewhat sentimental, but always likable individual. Miss Hayworth has been equally applauded for her work as "The Lady In Question." |
