Show Springville, Provo, In Crucial Grid Tilt Game to Be Determining Factor In Apportioning 1940 Region Three District Grid Honors In one of the most crucial contests of the 1940 grid season, Springville will invade Provo high school's gridiron Friday at 2:30 p. m. in hopes of a victorv and a share in region three grid honors. A win for the Red Devils and a defeats lor the Lehi Pioneers at the hands ol the Pleasant Grove Vikings at Pleasant Grove would assure the Devils a share of regional honors and a chance at the state high school title. In the past three consecutive years, neither club has been able to overcome the other. In 1939 the two clubs played a 13-13 deadlock, dead-lock, and the two previous years the scores read 0-0 and 6-6. Provo, undefeated in league play, boasts a fast team with plenty of passing ability. Springville, Spring-ville, on the other hand, has a strong forward wall with a powerful power-ful backfield, capable of ground-gaining ground-gaining by way of either power plays or aerial plays. 4 Judging from previous records of both teams this year and the fact that both elevens 'will be out to capture the tilt and end the deadlock results of previous battles, bat-tles, Friday's game promises to be one of the best regional games played this year. The game will be played In the B. Y. U. stadium. Seniors who will be playing in their final league game of their high school career for the Red Devils are: Anderson, Cameron, Stone, Collings, Averett, Thorn, Whiting, Watts, and Bringhurst. These players have displayed exceptional ex-ceptional ability at the game throughout the 1940 grid season, with much credit going to them . lor the team's success this year.
