Show Legion Auxiliary Hears Author Read Mrs. Christie Lund Coles, well known Utah author, entertained members of the American Legion Auxiliary and their .mothers and guests at an annual program on Wednesday evening of last week at Memorial hall. Mrs. Coles read a number of her poems and also read a story published recently m the Improvement Improve-ment Era. Three Provo women, Mrs. Marian Ostler, Mrs. Lois Swapp and Mrs. Darlene Belnap entertained with a vocal trio, the words of which were by Mrs. Coles with Mrs. Emma Bibson accompanist. accom-panist. Preceding the program, Mrs. Julia Sumsion entertained with piano music and later acompanied Reed Miner, who entertained with vocal solos. The meeting was under direction of President Anna Mae Wardle, with Lois J. Child in charge of the program. At the close of the evening's entertainment each guest was presented pre-sented with a tiny plant and refreshments re-freshments were served to eighty-five eighty-five members and guests by hostesses hos-tesses Floss Phillips," Hazel Roy-lance, Roy-lance, Forence Roylance, Frone Thorn, Clara Sumsion, Margaret Huntington, Dorothy Brown, Dolly Jarvis, Kate Holley, Helen Reynolds Rey-nolds and Lois Child. Poppies for Poppy Day were distributed dis-tributed by Chairman Audrey Miner Min-er and announcement was made of the next meeting a special election elec-tion of officers on Wednesday evening, eve-ning, May 27. |
