Thorn-Miss Karen White Make Home Here After Honeymoon 1 Home from a wedding trip to the West Coast and Las Vegas, Nev., and making their home in Spring-villp Spring-villp are Mr. and Mrs. James A. Thorn. The couple exchanged wedding vows May 8, in the Spanish Fork Fourth ward chapel, with Bishop Grant Thorn of the Springville Fifth ward,, an uncle of the groom, officiating. Prior to the double-ring ceremony, cere-mony, Mrs. Cora Thorn Bird of Los Angeles; Calif., sang three numbers, accompanied by Robert . Thorn. A wedding reception followed with the newlyweds greeting their ' many relatives and friends. The bride, formerly Miss Karen White, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Grant White of Spanish Fork was beautiful in a white satin wedding gown with overskirt of finely pleated tulle and Chantilly lace. The dress was floor length with a shorter lace overskirt with scalloped scallop-ed edges trimmed with seed-pearls and rhinesones as was the bodice of lace which featured a scalloped neckline and long pointed sleeves. Her finger-tip veil was of illusion illu-sion and fell from a standing heart-shaped crown encrusted with pearls and flowers studded with rhinestones. The bride carried a large white Bible over which was I a white orchid and pink French roses with butterfly streamers. Attending the bride as matron of honor was her sister, Mrs. Joe Nelson, while June Thorn, Milli-cent Milli-cent Stewart, Donna Swenson, Jackie Hayward, Marba Doughty, and Patricia Moody were bridesmaids. brides-maids. Sherry Miller was flower girl. Louie Thorn was junior best man to his brother and James Fry was best man. Others in the receiving line were the bride's father (her mother was unable to attend due to illness) and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Thorn, parents par-ents of the groom. Mrs. Thorn was attired in a gown of acqua crepe accented with an all white corsage cor-sage of gardenias and carnations: The matron of honor wore a pink lace while the bridesmaids were in identical gowns of green organdy. They carried small Bibles with gardenias and pink carnations. carna-tions. A basket of pink and white stock and carnations further- carried car-ried out the attractive color scheme for the reception. A short program was given under un-der direction of David B. Bowen, master of ceremonies. Mrs. Frances Fran-ces J. Clark sang accompanied by June Thorn. A wedding wish and a bride and bride-groom's prayer was given by Mrs. Elmer Swenson. Swen-son. Mrs. Cora Thorn Bird sang, accompanied by Robert Thorn, who also gave an organ solo and a group of girl friends gave numbers. num-bers. . Background music was played by Mrs. Maurice Bird and Jack Isaac. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Thorn' and Mr. and Mrs. Louis White greeted guests. Serving dainty refreshments at small tables were Dixie Thomas, Sharon Swenson, Janice Edwards, Sharlene Swenson, Emma Lee Beck, Mrs. James Fry and Carma Prince. In the dining room were Mrs. William Larsen, Mrs. Mark Swenson Swen-son and Mrs. Mark Johnson. The gifts were shown under direction di-rection of Mrs. Rulon Swenson, Mrs. Kemis Webb, Mrs. Robert Thorn and Mrs. Mary Miller. The trousseau rooms were beautifully beau-tifully arranged with many pieces of handiwork and wearing apparel. For her going-away suit of white, the bride chose red and navy accesosries. |
