Show Jrade Schoal n News' fffi a 5S - - - , We Have Fun In Our Room Making Maps We have been making some maps of Utah. We have painted rivers, lakes and mountains on them. On one we painted Lake Bonneville. It is a lake that was here long ago. We made a map of our county, to. We put some of the towns, Utah Lake and rivers on it. The maps loked funny fun-ny until we learned more about them. We had lots of fun making maps. SYLNA WHITING Lincoln School, 4th Grade News From the Mapleton School First Grade Makes Little Eskimos The first graders are making little Eskimo people and the cutest cut-est little Eskimo Village. They think it is fun to learn how the people of the North live and what they eat. They also have made a border of snow men. LARRY CHRISTENSEN Sixth Grade Learns About the Weather Do you know what? The sixth are making weather charts. They take the weather today and predict pre-dict the weather tomorrow. They take the air pressure, direction of wind, the temperature and others and put them together and they have the weather. , LARRY CHRISTENSEN Friday 13th Wasn't An Unlucky Day This week is the middle of our school year. We have had our spelling review to see if we remember re-member what we have learned. We have had a dance this week for our class. It's fun to dance. Today isn't unlucky even if it is Friday the 13th. Because Jimmy Jim-my Irvin came back to school. He has been absent because he was run over and hurt. We are all glad to see Jimmy back. RALPH ROSTRON Grant school, 5th Grade Sixth Grade To Get Spelling Tests Only another half of a school year and we'll be out for summer vacation. In other words, we've come to the middle of the year and Mr. Erickson is going to give us a check in spelling. He'll choose one hundred words from the past lessons. How will we do? I'll tell you next week. We should be very brilliant now for we have three teachers. Mr. Clark is here as a trainee under Mr. Erickson. Maybe he's learning more than we are. We appreciate all the help we're getting from Mr. Erickson, Mrs. Phillips, and the trainee. JEANETTE DOUGALL Grant school, 6th Grade. Our Room Has Pretty New Decorations Today we put up some new decorations in our room and got rid of the old ones. Some of the decorations are snow flakes and some are snow men. One of them looks like three big barrels and a dish pan for a hat. We have January Jan-uary written across the top. Well that's all for now.
