Show Visitors Return From Trip East Like the mailman who takes a hike on his vacation, Miss Shar-lene Shar-lene Bjarnson, air stewardess with United Airlines, took a vacation trip to New York and Washington, Washing-ton, D.C., via the air, for her vacation. va-cation. She was accompanied by her mother, Mrs. El Bjarnson, who also delights in traveling by plane and they were gone about ten days. Highlight of their stay in New York was a visit to the Cinerama, Radio City,' and seeing the stage production, "Big Payoff." They toured Manhatten Island, saw the statue of liberty, the old New York theater, the old bowery, the New York skyline and numerous other attractions. They took the plane to Washington, D.C., and here were met by Reed Benson, son of Ag. Secretary Ezra Taft Benson, and took a tour of the capitol city after dark. With special spec-ial permission the next day, Monday, Mon-day, they visited Sec. " Benson's offices; also to the Ag. building, Smithsonian Institute, National Gallery of Art and the Lincoln and Jefferson monuments. On Tuesday, they met Mrs. Arthur Watkins and had lunch in the senate dining room and went on a tour of the capitol building. Especially Es-pecially interesting were the Hall of Fame and the Senate and House of Representatives in session. ses-sion. On Wednesday, with Reed Benson's car and Mrs. Watkins as guide, they toured the countryside country-side and went to Mt. Vernon to see George Washington's mansion and estate, and many other points of interest. |
