Show Farm Outlook Home Building In 1954 there was a record new spurt in home-building with an increasing in-creasing trend away from apartment apart-ment units and toward inglefam-ily inglefam-ily homes. The number of dwellings dwel-lings placed under construction in 1954 was 1,215,000, or ten per cent more than the 1,103.800 units started in 1953, according to the labor department. During the first nine months of 1954, nine out of every ten dwellings placed under construction were the one-family type. |
