Show Legion Auxiliary Installs; Hears ; Girl State Reports Mrs. Lois Child took over the i duties of president of the Ameri-! Ameri-! can Legion Auxiliary at, installa-i installa-i ,tion ceremonies Wednesday even-j even-j ing at Memorial Hall. Other new j officers installed are: Mrs. Marva j Davis and Mrs. Helen Crandall, vice - presidents; Mrs. Margaret i Campbell, and also Mrs. Stella Harmer, ' sargeants-at-arms; Mrs. Lela Nelson, historian; Helen Reynolds, chaplain; Mrs. Edith Miner, treasurer; Mrs. Beth Johnson, John-son, secretary. Mrs. Manila Brown, president of district four, installed the new officers. Special visitors at the i meeting were Mrs. Ruby Farns-! Farns-! worth of Salt Lake City, depart-i depart-i rnent secretary, and Mrs. Helen Howard, Riverton, director of Girls' State, both of whom spoke I briefly. The meeting featured reports j by the girls who attended Girls' State under the sponsorship of the Auxiliary. Miss Marilyn Thorpe, elected to the highest of- l fice of Girls' State, that of state governor, told of the activities at the encampment and the knowledge know-ledge she gained concerning parliamentary par-liamentary rule and other educational educa-tional activities. Miss Lucille Bry-an, Bry-an, who was elected to the position posi-tion of sheriff, reported on the recreational re-creational and educational facilities facili-ties offered at Girls' State. In behalf be-half of her daughter, ' Linda, who also attended Mrs. Willis Weight thanked the Auxiliary for the opportunity op-portunity afforded her daughter ?n attending Girls' State. Linda is W California for the summer. Mothers of the two other girls, M's. Elaine Thorpe and Mrs. j-auren Bryan were invited to attend at-tend the meeting as special guests. j Adding interest to their reports laniyn and Lucille also sang the wis' State song, accompanied by Nadine Waters. Mrs. Margaret Campbell, retir-"S retir-"S president of the Auxiliary, was charge of the forepart of the meeting and later turned the p l, over to Mrs. Child, refreshments were served in conclusion by hostesses, Minnie , oesbeck, Anna Mae Wardle, 'ta Olsen, Martha Whiting and Banche Ostlund. |
