Several days were required to clear the rocks and mud from the irrigation canals at the mouth of Maple and Hobble Creek canyons-after canyons-after the storm which swept over this part of the state Thursday and Friday, according to reports. The upper canal of Mapleton was filled with debris for a distance of nearly 1000 feet by the storm Thursday and the high line didtch on the north of Hobble Creek canyon can-yon had to be cleared for a distance dis-tance of nearly 500 feet. Mrs. Prudence Palfreyman and Miss Captola Cherrington went to Logan Monday to see the cantata "The Holy City," presented by the U.S.A.C. music department. Misses Laura and Hilda Clegg were among those of Springville who will go on the annual Timp-anogos Timp-anogos hike Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Heber Livingston and family of this city went to Fountain Green during the week end to attend the wedding reception recep-tion of their niece, Miss Velda Oldroyd, who was married in the Manti Temple Wednesday. In honor of her little son Russell, Rus-sell, whose fourth birthday occurred oc-curred Sunday, Mrs. Bert Groes-beck Groes-beck entertained at a nicely arranged ar-ranged birthday party at their home in the afternoon. Announcement is made of the marriage of Miss Mary Simmons of Spanish Fork to Howard May-cock, May-cock, son of Mrs. Lena Maycock, which took place Wednesday in the Manti Temple.
