Show Talboe Co., Hjorth Bros. Bid Low on School Building Talboe Construction Co., o f Prove- submitted the low net bid of $136,360, for the general construction construc-tion work on the Westside elemcm-tary elemcm-tary grade school in Springville, when bids were opened at the board of education meeting Monday evening. The same company was awarded the general bid for the school now under construction at the Grant site. Hjorth Brothers of Mapleton submitted the low bid of $39,426 for heating and plumbing and the same concern bid low $8000 for the electrical equipment. Polio Experiment Supt. Wallace W. Brockbank reported re-ported that 'Nebo School District together with the Alpine and Provo dist., had been selected by the state and national health organizations for the polio innooulation experiment, experi-ment, the innoculations to be given to children of the First. Second and Third grades. The doctors will give their services gratis and the state will furnish all necessary supplies. The districts will bear the expense of clerical work for tabulation results. re-sults. Following a discussion by board members, the experiment was authorized providing parents give their written consent for the innoculation of their boy or girl. The board meetings will be held on the first and third Mondav of each month, rather than on Wednesday, Wed-nesday, a motion to change the time having been made at a previous pre-vious board meeting. |
