Show ! Springville Home Featured in National Magazine A Springville home, that of Dr. and Mrs. Reed Holdaway, 601 East 2nd North St., is Being featured in a double page spread with colored color-ed pictures and story in the April issue of Better Homes and Gardens, Gar-dens, national magazine, which will be on the newstands soon. Entitled, "It Steals the Mountain's Moun-tain's Thunder," the article is by Elizabeth Gilrain, Western States Associate Editor of the magazine. The article which describes the exterior design and interior plan and decorative theme of the home, begins with this sentence: "If you were to buy your homesite at the foot of the Wasatch Mountains in Utah, you'd never be the same from then on." Further on, it states, "Dr. and Mrs. Reed Holdaway didn't have to recover from Colonialism before they built their new home in Springville, Utah. They had grown up in this country and the mountains were in their blood." Material for the article and pictures pic-tures were taken shortly after the home was completed in the summer sum-mer of 1952, Mrs. Holdaway said. A colored picture of the outside of the home also appeared in the February issue of Better Homes and Gardens. In addition to these magazine feature stories, the Hold-away Hold-away home is also pictured in full together with the floor plan and several black and white inside-looking-out views in the September 1953 issue of the Architectural Record, national publication. |
