Pace (Pauline Clyde) was honored recently by being crowned "Queen for a Day" by Jayceettes at San Jose, Calif., in connection with their annual Bazaar-Fashion show. Merchandise and merchandise orders totaling near $1000 were awarded the queen, according to word received here and she was presented among other things with a beautiful fur stole, many items of clothing, a toaster, dishes, a roto-broiler, coffee table, hair styling, an oil painting of herself, lamps, dinner for two for a week, jewelry, dance lessons, sewing lessons and many other things. Mrs. Pace is the daughter of Edward and the late Hannah Clyde of this city. Crowning the queen was radio star Frank Darian while a one-time television "Queen for a Da" looks on. |
