Show Springville Youths ' Injured in Sleighing Mishap Two Springville youths were confined con-fined in the Utah Valley hospital this week with severe injuries suffered suf-fered in a sleigh-riding party Monday Mon-day night. Claire Selley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow L. Selley of Senior Court, sustained a skull fracture and was knocked unconscious when the sleigh he was on trailing behind be-hind a car, hit a fence post above Kelly's Grove at about 9 p.m. Monday Mon-day night. A companion, Marilyn Ollerton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carlyle Ollerton, Brookside, was also thrown from the sleigh and suffered a fractured leg below the knee. Clair had rgained consciousness Tuesday night and was to have x-rays Wednesday. Marilyn is ex. Pected to be released from the hospital in a few days. Lynn Ash, riding on the same sleigh escaped Mjury and helped pull the victims from the snow and called for help. The young people, all high school age, were having a D-E supper that night, and while they were waiting for others to come the supper, a few decided to go fr a sleigh ride. . Those who were on the sleigh-"g sleigh-"g Party besides Lynn Ash and helped take the injured to the hos- puai were Kent Burt, Gary Cran-dall, Cran-dall, Marilyn Frost, Gail Ferguson and Kay Holley. |
