Show Brookside School Reports Children ' From Two New Families in School By Karen Jensen and Sandra Jackman We have two new families of children in Brookside school today: Kathleen Jennings, Vicki Lyn Jennings, Jen-nings, Lee Jennings, and Mike Jennings. This family has moved into Brookside from American Fork. Michael Jones came here from Milford, Utah. Jimmy Wilson, in our kindergarten, kindergar-ten, brought to school a large owl that his father caught while hunting hunt-ing pheasants. They are going to build a cage for it. For American Education week all of the class rooms had parents coming into the school each day for conferences. On Friday, Mrs. Leona Liston, room mother, came to school and gave an illustrated story to the children. She was followed fol-lowed by Mayor A. W. Cherring- ton, who spoke to them about safety. With the big snowfall Monday, we had several committees keep-nig keep-nig measurement of how fast the snow came. The first flakes fell upon the children who came to school just as school began. By noon, the snow on the level was ten inches. Nearly all of the cars getting into and from the school grounds became stuck; so dozens of children were out pushing and digging with shovels. The students pushed big snowballs as far as they could. Some of these were about six feet high and had to have steps to reach the top. The fourth grade has new class officers: Terry Frost, president; Marsha Watts, Janet Ostler, Lynn Payne, Kathryn Laney, David Oak, and Sharon Huff, councilmen. The sixth grade hf.s an aquarium from which we can study water life. We are going to have a supply of white mice, so we can study ; their growth according to varying diets which we give them. |
