Show Spanish Fork Man Loses Life in Local Accident A Spanish Fork man was fatally injured and another, also a resi dent of Spanish Fork, was released re-leased from the Springville city jail Wednesday on a $2000 property prop-erty bail, as a result of an auto mobile accident on South Main street at 5 p.m. Tuesday. The accident occured when one car stopped for a pedestrain and the second car, a cattle truck, was struck by a southbound car driven by Max Olsen, 37, of Spanish Fork. Riding with Olsen was Earl Ainge, 35, of Spanish Fork, who was struck above the eyes and suffered suff-ered a crushed head; He was removed re-moved to the Spanish Fork hospital hos-pital and died about two hours later. Olsen was cited for driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and he had no driver's license. A report from investigating officers, of-ficers, Mead Weight and Lamar Horrocks, stated that Olsen applied ap-plied the brakes and skidded approximately ap-proximately 38 feet before hitting the left rear corner of the truck with his front door. His car then careened to the left of the truck and traveled 283 feet before coming com-ing to a stop. The accident was the second automobile fatality in Springville within the past few weeks, the other being that of Jack Masters, who died of injuries after being struck in the roadway near his home three weeks ago. |
