Show alties are applied to the claim of anyone who misrepresents or makes false statements attempting- to obtain benefits that would not otherwise be due. The maximum weekly amount payable is $27.50, and the minimum is $10, ranging from a total payment of $150 to $715, depending de-pending upon the total amount of earning that the worker had during dur-ing the past year. Disqualifications are assessed against the claims of workers who become unemployed voluntarily without good cause or who are discharged from their work for misconduct cr who are regularly attending school or who are unable to work because of personal or health conditions. Colman, manager of the Provo Employment Employ-ment Security Office, there are 663 Utah County residents who filed claims during the week ending end-ing January 3. This compares to 988 people who filed claims for Unemployment Insurance during the week ending January 5, and 611 who filed during a comparable period in 1951. Forty-eight of the people were under 21 years of age, "370 were between 21 and 45, 222 were between be-tween 45 and 65, and 23 people were over 65 years of age. Five hundred thirty-five of the people filing were men and 128 were women. There are 73 men and 24 women filing claims from Springville. 8 have occupational experience in the professional field, 7 in the sales and clerical, 6 in the service occupation, 25 in the skilled trades 24 in the semi-skilled occupations, a,nd 28 are laborers. 5 of these are under 21 years of age, 55 are between be-tween the ages of 21 and 45, 33 between the ages of 45 and 65 and 4 are over 65 years of age.
