Outstanding Man of '52 to Be Named at DSA Banquet Jan. 28 Who will be Springville's outstanding young man of 1952? This will be the question uppermost in the minds of townspeople during the next few : days as they prepare to attend the annual DSA banquet at which the announcement is made and the award given. The banquet, sponsored annually annual-ly by the Jaycees will be held Wednesday evening, January 28, at 8 p.m. in the Second-Eighth Ward church. Reed Johnson will be master of ceremonies. In addition to presenting the Distinguished Service Award to Springville's outstanding young man, three men from the Jaycee club will be awarded the key-men key-men keys in recognition of the fine service they have rendered to the club the past year. The man receiving the DSA does not have to be a club member. He is judged on his past year's activities and service to the community, com-munity, on his ability to lead in church and civic activity and on J business success, character and general leadership. Secured as the guest speaker of the evening will be J. Thomas Fyans, president of the Salt Lake City Junior Chamber of Commerce; Com-merce; also Ted Anderson of Salt Lake City, State DSA chairman. All of the candidates for the Distinguished Service Award are being invited to the banquet as well as other award winners and representatives from . all of the civic clubs of the city together with representatives from the city council. Reservations for the event should be made with Marcus Johnson, John-son, chairman of the DSA banquet, ban-quet, Lamar Holley or Dave Thomas, not later than January 26. Townspeople interested in knowing know-ing who is the outstanding young man of 1952, should make plans now to attend the banquet. |
