Show Mapleton News By Mrs. Norris T. Binks I'hono 0109-R4 Mrs. Bird Nielson was hostess to the Mapleton DUP at her home on Thursday, October 8. She was assisted by Ida Whiting, Phoebe Perry and Nellie Wiscombe. Marva Whiting gave the lesson and a history was given by Nellie Wis combe. Helen Campbell entertained the group with a reading. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hjorth of Mapleton and Mrs. Catherine Clements of Ogden were among the relatives who accompanied Robert Ro-bert Mendenhall and his bride Phyllis Marie Kaiser to the Salt Lake temple Monday, October 5 for their marriage ceremony. Robert Rob-ert is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Wen-dell Mendenhall of Stockton, Calif., formerly of Mapleton and Springville Spring-ville respectively. A wedding reception was given for the young couple in Stockton on the following Friday. Young Joe Halverson is suffering suffer-ing from a broken leg which oc-cured oc-cured while walking on a fence. Camp Union chapter of the DUP will hold their next meeting at the home of Mrs. Grace Norwood on Monday, October 19. All members mem-bers are cordially invited. Mrs. Bird Nielson will be hostess hos-tess to the Neddie-Craft Club on Thursday, October 15. Five members of the JC Wives were invited to the auxiliary birthday birth-day party which was held in the Lafayette Ball Room of Hotel Utah Saturday, October 3, in Salt Lake City. They were delightfully entertained enter-tained with a fashion show and luncheon. Those attending from Mapleton were President Rose Bona, Dorothy Perrero, Beth Bird, Louise Schwartz and Irene Freeman. Free-man. Irene was lucky enough to receive one of the door prizes. The following students have registered reg-istered to study at the Brigham Young university this year: Joy Jensen, Ruth Ann Jensen, Bonnie Beardall, Donna Gay Mendenhall, Glade Binks, Lynn Bird, Kay Tew and Bob Bluth. A capacity crowd filled church was in attendance at the farewell services for William R. Bradfofrd Sunday evening. William, who is has spent a ten-day furlough visiting visit-ing with his wife Mrs. Janice Maiv chant Stewart. Mrs. Stewart has been making her home with her mother and step-father Mr. and Mrs. E. M.
